The NYCO plant in Tournai, Belgium, the company’s main production site, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. NYCO produces synthetic esters and lubricants for civil and military aviation, as well as for industry and the automotive industry, which are exported to more than 100 countries, including Ukraine through its official representative, UKOIL LLC.
“We are proud of our plant, which has brought NYCO to a new level of expertise thanks to its dual production capacity – both esters and high-performance lubricants. This is a unique European site,” said Guillaume Lafage, Managing Director of NYCO.
The plant includes several production and packaging workshops, as well as an analysis and quality control laboratory, where technicians process more than 50,000 samples per year.
The NYCO plant in Tournai is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, with the environment and safety being one of the main priorities. Thus, measures are taken to control the impacts associated with the site’s activities, such as reducing energy consumption (22% reduction in electricity consumption in 2016 compared to 2015) and reducing water consumption (32%). In addition, the plant ensures and improves the favorable working conditions for employees by investing in ergonomics, safety and hygiene.
Last May, NYCO held an open day to celebrate its 20th anniversary and presented a new experimental unit where NYCO develops the synthetic lubricants of the future.
Since 2007, NYCO’s research laboratory has been located in Neuville-sur-Oise, in the suburbs of Paris, where engineers and technicians work on the development of next-generation lubricants. Thanks to the most modern equipment, the laboratory has developed the following major projects:
- The “Food Grade” range – esters for lubricants used in the food industry;
- Hydraulic fluids and oils for two-stroke engines that meet the requirements of the European Ecolabel;
- The latest generation of aviation multi-purpose lubricants NYCO Grease GN 148 and NYCO Grease GN 3058, which can replace the vast majority of all existing lubricants.
NYCO annually makes significant investments in research and development to develop innovative and reliable technologies, as well as to support customers in their projects. For example, NYCO has provided an oil analysis service that helps customers in the aviation and industrial industries understand the behavior of lubricants in operation for high-quality operation of equipment.
These two sites strengthen NYCO’s position as a technical expert that provides high-performance and reliable technological solutions.
