New offering is a multi-purpose, all-purpose grease for airlines with multiple aircraft types in their fleets
NYCO announced a new approval for Nyco Grease GN 148, the latest multi-purpose synthetic grease, for ATR aircraft. This new authorization complements previous approvals for Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and makes Nyco Grease GN 148 the latest development for airlines that operate a variety of aircraft types and require different types of lubricants.
“Nyco Grease GN 148 enables the use of a single, universal, high-performance lubricant for aircraft maintenance, thus simplifying logistical and airworthiness tasks, resulting in lower direct maintenance costs,” said Pedro Dasi, NYCO development manager.
Air France, France’s largest airline, recently selected Nyco Grease GN 148 to service two types of aircraft – Boeing and Airbus – making it the first airline to extend the use of Nyco Grease GN 148 as a multi-purpose lubricant to multiple aircraft types. Air France has rationalized the number of lubricants used for a large number of different aircraft types and simplified maintenance tasks.
Approved to meet required specifications including BMS 3-33 B, AIMS 09-06-002, MIL-PRF-23827 C and SAE AMS 3052, Nyco Grease GN 148 can be used on virtually all passenger aircraft for 90 percent of the maintenance tasks that require grease, including actuators, hatch covers, flaps, blades, ball bearings, roller bearings or needle roller bearings, landing gear, and horizontal stabilizer.
Nyco Grease GN 148 is a synthetic grease that is a Class 2 grease according to the classification developed by the U.S. National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI) and that has anti-corrosion, anti-oxidant, wear, and anti-seize properties.
